About Us

For over 20 years, founder Brandon Trask worked deep in the trenches of IT— manning the phones of Helpdesk, walking job sites, climbing ladders to access cabling, troubleshooting outages in mission-critical environments, and helping teams recover from systems that weren’t built with the future in mind. Those experiences shaped a clear vision: infrastructure isn’t just hardware; it’s the backbone of every modern business.

One thing stood out through it all—people’s frustrations often revealed the real problems. Brandon developed a passion for shadowing users, watching how they worked, listening to where technology slowed them down, and translating those pain points into practical, durable solutions. That human-centered approach became the core of his engineering philosophy.

Granite Ridge IT was created to bring that real-world perspective to organizations that need more than quick fixes. Brandon built the company around practical design, long-term reliability, and the belief that the best systems are the ones you hardly notice because they’re always working.

Today, Granite Ridge IT supports clients with resilient networking, wireless systems, and physical infrastructure—from enterprise environments to residential spaces. Every project reflects the same principle that sparked the company: solve problems the right way, the first time, by truly understanding the people who rely on the technology.

Community Commitment

Connectivity is more than a business to us—it’s a lifeline. Brandon’s experience working in disaster communications response with FEMA, state and local agencies, and the federal government showed him how critical reliable infrastructure is in times of crisis. He has seen firsthand how lives, safety, and operations depend on communication that never fails.

That commitment to public service continues to shape Granite Ridge IT’s values. We believe that strong communities are built through shared effort and meaningful support. As part of that mission, we have:

  • Donate time and materials to Golden Rule ReEntry, a local nonprofit launching a new upholstery trade-training initiative. Helping them via donating time and materials to further the technical foundation for their program allows us to support individuals rebuilding their lives and gaining valuable skills.

  • Mentor local teens in computer building and technology, giving young people hands-on experience and confidence in foundational IT skills. We believe empowering the next generation is one of the most impactful ways we can invest in our community’s future.

Whether supporting training programs, youth education, or emergency response planning, our goal is simple: use our expertise to strengthen the communities we serve—not just their networks, but their opportunities and resilience. A key component to Granite Ridge IT's operating principles is to provide pro bono services to strengthen our community.
